Mantey Machine originated in Marion, Ohio and in 2019, moved to Marysville, Ohio. A woman owned company, we specialize in structural fabrications and manufacturing automation. From conceptual design to precise fabrication, we make your project dreams come to life.

Mallory Underwood Mantey

Owner/Operator, AWS Certified Welder

Mallory is a born-and raised graduate from Marysville High School who later attended Indiana Wesleyan University. She purchased Mantey Machine in 2018 and moved the company to Marysville. She is a proud female business owner and leads all estimates, schedules, staff, projects, and customer accounts.

Thomas Mantey

Designer, Machinist and AWS Certified Welder

Thomas is a graduate of Marysville High School where he excelled in welding and troubleshooting at a young age. He attended The Ohio State University College of Engineering, Welding Engineering. After college, he began his career in robot manufacturing and integration in manufacturing facilities across the United States. He founded Mantey Machine in 2017 in Marion, Ohio. He is head of all design and shop procedures, and succeeds in what he truly loves- designing, machining, and integrating assemblies. He enjoys fulfilling the customers expectations from start to finish. An outdoorsman, he loves being around water and finds joy fishing and kayaking with his family.

Mango Mantey

German Shepherd

Mango began her career at Mantey Machine in 2018 when she was just a puppy. She enjoys playing ball, taking naps under the Haas machining center, hiding pizza to eat it days later, and chasing birds and critters. She has a notifying bark, but quickly becomes friends with our regular visitors and delivery drivers.

Mango began her career at Mantey Machine in 2018 when she was just a puppy. She creates adorable content for our social media platforms and is official shop entertainment and security. She enjoys playing ball with whomever is standing at their machine, taking naps under the Haas machining center, hiding pizza to eat it days later, and chasing away birds and critters from “her” property. She has a notifying bark, but quickly becomes friends with our regular visitors and delivery drivers. Her favorite part of work is finding pieces of cribbing and leaving them in everyone’s way.

Mallory Underwood Mantey

Owner/Operator, AWS Certified Welder

Mallory is a born-and raised local who attended Marysville High School, Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology, and Indiana Wesleyan University. After starting her own salon and working at her parent’s establishment, Underwood Funeral Home, she purchased Mantey Machine in 2018 and moved the company to Marysville. She is a proud female business owner and leads all estimates, schedules, staff, customer accounts. Her favorite part of the job is innovation and on-site estimating with customers. She enjoys adventuring with her family, riding her horse, and defying societal norms.

Mallory is a graduate of Marysville High School where she and Tom met in FFA. After high school, she went on to become a licensed cosmetologist and later opened her own salon in Marysville. She attended Indiana Wesleyan University and majored in sociology. After working 11 years for her parents at Underwood Funeral Home, she purchased Mantey Machine in 2018 and moved the company to Marysville, Ohio. She is a proud woman business owner and leads all estimates, schedules, staff, customer accounts, and still supports her parent’s business as needed. Her favorite part of the job is on-site estimating with customers. In the shop, she prefers operating the band saw because it sets the pace for all other operations. She enjoys adventuring with family, riding her horse, conquering new challenges, and eating yummy food.

He proudly manages all aspects of manufacturing design and mechanical troubleshooting. His favorite shop procedure is designing structural and automated assemblies that come to life under his schedule of operations. When he isn’t working, he is fabricating or fixing something, and enjoys an occasional German beer. An outdoorsman, he loves being around water and finds joy fishing and kayaking with his family.

Matthew Vollrath

AWS Certified Welder

Matthew is a recent graduate of Marysville High School. While there, he excelled in the FFA Agricultural Mechanical Engineering program, and was captain of the first weld team in Marysville history to bring home a first-place banner. Now a full-time employee at Mantey Machine, he enjoys starting raw material in the VF-3 CNC mill and receiving a finished product when the doors open. In his spare time, he raises hogs, runs equipment on his family farm, and enjoys hunting and being outdoors.

Hannah Grim

Visual Communications Intern

Hannah is a junior at Bowling Green State University, where she is majoring in Visual Communication Technology. At BGSU, she learns valuable skills in photography, videography, print media, and web design. She is also a member of a competitive a cappella choir on campus. When she’s not designing, you can find her reading a book, spinning a vinyl, or spending time with her family and two pugs.

Emerson Trapp

Welding Intern

Emerson is a freshman at ATI Wooster. He was part of the 2023 1st place welding team at Marysville High School where he was also an FFA officer and excelled in baseball. A well-rounded individual, he hopes to pursue a career in Ag Science. Mantey Machine is excited to have him on the team during his summer breaks.

Austin Bennett

MHS FFA Student Intern

Austin is a junior at Marysville High School where he participates in the FFA Internship program and is also an officer. He was part of the 2023 1st place welding team at Marysville High School. He enjoys being outdoors and trouble-shooting equipment. His ability to back a double hay trailer is second to none. He is looking forward to graduation in 2025.
